Leaf Spring Hangers on the S10
My '91 s10 has some really bad rust on the frame where the rear leaf spring shackles mount...I have been advised to sand blast it all down, see whats left, and then basically box the frame in with some steel and rebuild the mount. I have the bed off the truck now and if theres anytime that im gonna do this its gonna be now. Just wanted to see if anybody has done anything like this.1999 Chevrolet Suburban LS K1500
1991 Chevrolet S10 4.3L 4x4

I had to repair the area around the hangers on my 86 S-15 Jimmy after getting a little to rough on it in the North Georgia woods a few years back.
I found out it had lots of corrosion inside the frame which made the hanger area collapse while running at speed through some whoop de doos.
I plated the outside of the frame then made a custom set of wider hangers that angled in under the frame. Worked great for the remaining 2 years I owned the truck.
If you bridge the hangers it reduces a little sway from them.
