    Default cubby hole?

hey guys i have a 07 silverado. i was wondering if there was any specific use for the little cubby spot to the right of the climate control knobs and under the vent. its an odd shape just wondering if it has a purpose or a place to put something?

Do you have onstar? I know on my old Avalanche (2002) OnStar went in the cubby to the right of the climate control. But my '06 avalanche onstar is on the mirror, and there's a flat plate with a stability control button where the cubby would be. Not sure if that helps.

There's probably an option on some trucks that uses that space on the dash.. I know the 2wd trucks and 4wd work trucks have a second hole like that in the place where the 4wd selector knob goes. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the hole on the right side is where the air bag disable switch would go on the regular cab trucks.

That cubby, thru '04 was the passenger airbag disable switch. My 2005 has an automatic sensor w/ on/off display in the mirror [worktruck w/ no On-Star]. I wondered what the left side cubby was all about since my worktruck has the 4x4 stick on the floor. Can't keep much in that one though I do use the one by the HVAC controls....
