Chevy Truck Dimensional Data
Is there a place on line that i can find dimensional data for a 95 Chevy Silverado? Someone told me that the 97 crew cab should fit on the frame of a 95 extended cab and I'm trying to find a website that would have the dimensions of the frame and body components to verify if this is correct or not. Any thoughts?

It will fit on an Extended cab, long bed chassis.. otherwise it wont fit properly.

How do you know which bed you have? I know mine isnt 8ft, so i'm going to assume that its not the long.

Short is 6Ft and a long is 8ft, then you have a crew bed which is 5.5Ft

So an extended cab with a 6 ft bed cant be switched out with a crew cab and a 5.5 ft bed? Is there really more than a six inch difference? Or is it because of the bolt hole alignment?

There isnt a 5.5Ft bed available for the 88-98 Gm trucks.

I wanted to do this mod as well, and the amount of fab work/time i decided to just sell the truck and look for a crew cab.

Yeah... I'm okay with rebuilding it the way it is when it comes to this MOD... It has such severe rust that the cab and bed have to be replaced with something from a junk yard, so i figured it would be worth looking into since they were coming off either way...

Oh i got ya that is why i was looking to since living in MN those older chevies (even my 2000) get very rusty with all the salt.
