    Default 98 k2500 hard start

I have a 98 with the 5.7 vortec and it has gotten very hard to start.

I put a scanner on it and there are not DTC's listed.

When it has set for a few days I have to crank on it for anywhere form 2 to 3 minutes to 10 minutes to get it started. Not continuously or course. It seems that if I cycle the key quite a few times after cranking on it for couple of minutes it starts faster, but not always.

When it does finally catch it starts and runs great, not hesitation or running rough.

I am thinking fuel related, but have heard it may the pressure regulator or possibly a bad coil wire. The coil wire I would think would either be good or bad so it is possibly the least of my concerns right now.

    Any suggestions?

I would actually start with the Fuel Pressure Regulator, and clean the entire upper intake and also remove the Spider injector and clean it up. I just did this on my 2000 S-10 blazer with the 4.3L vortec (same as a 350 with 2 less cyl.) and it went from being a hard starting beast to firing right up.
