    Default Tachometer

    i'm thinking about getting an after market tach for my 86 chevy 305. can anyone tell me how hard or easy this will be to install? or if you have a tip that would be awesome!

    Welcome to the GM truck club Pinkerton.
    No worries on the tach wireing. You will get instructions with your tach, & they are really easy for '80's vehicles as they are only 3 wires. One to the - negative side of the coil, one to ground, and one for the light that you will hook to the rheostat on your dash lights.
    1988 Chevy C-3500 2wd (no pic)
    350 c.i. 5.7 L Stock Block, 4 Bolt Mains
    L-31 Vortec Heads, Edelbrock Cam & Intake,
    Holley 650, Flowtech Headers, Magnaflow exh.
    Jet Trans 700R4, B&M Ratchet, 4:10 gears,
    3" susp. lift kit "shadetree"
    No rev limiter, No speed limiter lol

    On your distributor cap, there's even a terminal just for a tach.
