Interior ambient lighting for console?
Our Accord and Pilot (and probably lots of other late model cars) have this tiny light in the overhead console that shines down on the center console area to ever-so-slightly illuminate it at night. It's always on, and it's such a narrow and faint beam of light you almost would never notice it unless you paid attention to it. but it affords just enough light to find your phone, or your drink in the cupholder, etc. The lamp itself is recessed so you don't see the source unless you're right under it looking up.
I'd like to add something similar to my Yukon XL SLT. I have a simple overhead console with two map lights. Is this a feature on other trims of these these trucks, and if so can anyone point me to the right parts to use to retrofit?
Alternatively, I'd be open to home-brew if I could find the right lamp/LED, but I haven't seen anything that looks suitable. Anyone done something like this?Sebastian
