Default life expectency of rear brakes (drum style) 2007 Chevy Silverado 4x4 LTX Crew Cab Z71

Hi! I just had my rear brakes (Drum Style) replaced at 65,000 klms. Afte going for my semi annual inspection my dealer indicated I had only 2 mm left onmy rear shoes. I found this odd since I only tow occasionally ( boat and landscape trailer) and nomally do not carry heavy loads. Also with my last truck a 2001 Silverado 1500 HD, I changed rear brakes (Disc sytle) at 95,000 KLMS.

I was just wondering if changing rear brakes at 65 K sounds right ?

    Any feedback would be appreaciated!

    Thanks

I am interested to know the answer to this as well. I don't understand the switch to drum brakes (cost has to be the reason) for the GMT900 when my 2004 Silverado had disc brakes at both ends.

I have an 05 (rear drum) and I have 93,000 miles on the original brakes, front and rear.
