Smile Aftermarket Cruise Control -- Ebay Special

I do a lot of long-distance driving in my 2009 Sierra WT, and for several weeks I've been going over my options for adding cruise control (ie: OEM parts/programming vs aftermarket kits) and just had a hard time because of cost. Yesterday I stumbled upon a deal on Ebay and I ended up getting a new Rostra 250-1848 Cruise Control Kit for $100...exactly the kit I've been thinking of! Retail for this kit is about $260. I would have preferred the OEM solution, but the cost of parts and uncertainty of getting the PCM reprogrammed kept me back. Everything I've read online about the Rostra and it's products are positive, but the retail price on their kits kept me away until now. Hopefully it will arrive quickly so I can install it next weekend...wish me luck!

Got the cruise control installed this morning, took about 3 hours. Went for a test drive and it works great! That should help for those long trips and help my MPGs too.

looks good. I use my cruise control a lot on the highway and I can't imagine having a vehicle without it. I'm glad that it was one of the 3 options my stepdad got on my base model truck. I prefer the cruise switches to be built into the steering wheel like factory would have been on yours, or into another stalk like mine, but that install actually looks pretty good on your truck. Good job on the install

I wont own a truck with out cruise anymore (to many miles on the highway like you) and for $100 you CANT go wrong! looks good.. how bad was the install? since the new motors are Drive by wire.

Hardest part was tapping into the VSS wire, it's on the back of the junction box and difficult to reach. Other than that..the usual "bend backwards and upside down" to work under a dash is always a thrill. The installation directions were pretty easy to follow, I just made sure I disabled the airbag first and took my time.
