    Default stuck in park, will not shift from park to drive on 98 taho.

    i have a 98 chevy Tahoe that will not come out of park. i know you have to step on the brake but is the interlock eletrical or mechanical? any ideas what to check?

    Welcome to the GM truck club JL. Is your Tahoe parked on an incline? This is why most automatics get stuck in park. It doesn't take much of an incline with that much weight sitting on the parking pawl to keep it stuck.
    1988 Chevy C-3500 2wd (no pic)
    350 c.i. 5.7 L Stock Block, 4 Bolt Mains
    L-31 Vortec Heads, Edelbrock Cam & Intake,
    Holley 650, Flowtech Headers, Magnaflow exh.
    Jet Trans 700R4, B&M Ratchet, 4:10 gears,
    3" susp. lift kit "shadetree"
    No rev limiter, No speed limiter lol

    no, it is on a flat parking lot.
