Default Wells Fargo Car Loan Rates

Looking to replace the Trailblazer and wonderful Wells Fargo just quoted me 17.2% for a car loan up to $25,000. Wow, thanks WELLS FARGO! I went in-house to a dealership and they said they could get me 3.89% interest rate if I put down a decent down-payment (which was my idea in the first place).

Get this, I have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, student loans and I've had my checking/savings with them for 10 years. I have almost enough cash right now to just buy the vehicle outright, which I just might decide to do to avoid this craziness. Wells Fargo wants you to have a SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER before they will give you a rate. So it's not just your credit, your history with them, the amount of cash you have, it's the specific trim-level of the vehicle and if they think it's a good deal.

    Really? 17.2%?

I think that I'm done with Wells Fargo. If they want to insult me with a 17.2% interest rate, then I'll close down EVERYTHING and take my business elsewhere.
