2006 silverado No DIC oil life
First off all, does an 06 silverado without DIC have an oil life monitor? I've put 3k miles on mine since I bought it, and cannot find any light, etc. The manual just shows DIC oil life monitor, so I'm at a loss.

If you dont have DIC buttons then just push the trip odometer reset button, this should scroll through various displays. If the oil life monitoring system isn't shown, then its probably not viewable, the computer will just prompt you to change the oil.
If the manual does not state weather your vehicle has the monitoring system, you can take it to any chevrolet dealer, have them run your vin code and they will be able to tell you. It could be 5-7k miles before the system will trip.

Yes it does have an oil monitor, once the oil change is due your DIC will say "CHANGE ENGINE OIL" mine pops up at about 7k miles without fail.
