    Question Possible to program fog lights for auto-on? 2010 Silverado

    Trying to figure out if there is any way to set the fog lights to come on by default with the auto-on headlights.

    I was able to have this set on my last car (Chrysler 300 SRT8) by the dealership so when the lights kicked on, the fogs came on as well by default. Is a dealership able to do the same on the GMT900 platforms?

    On my 2010 Colorado, I just leave them turned on and they stay on unless you turn them off. They just don't operate when the lights are on High.

    With the GMT900 trucks (and Tahoe for that matter) you can manually turn the fogs on, but they won't come back on next time the lights kick on. I know the fogs turn off by default with high-beams (which I also had changed on the Chrysler) but that is my issue- can the default be changed?

    Again, I figure it is a programming issue just not sure how to set "fogs on" as the default or if the service techs can set it...

    You can run a jumper in the fuse box b/t the two that will make them come on w/ your headlights.

    or just tie the fog lights directly into the head lights, only thing with that is it might only work on low beams or highs depending on which one you tie into

    It amazes me that our trucks are less flexible than offerings from MoPar...

    I'd like to avoid re-wiring the lights, especially since I am guessing this is a simple software setting. Just sad that it looks like a GM can't be tweaked in the same fashion...
