    Default Tire Size

I have searched and can't find the exact answer I am looking for. I am in need of new tires and I want to get a bit more aggressive tires. I have an 05 Silverado z71 with the stock 265/65/17s on it. I am putting on the readylift leveling kit tomorrow or Saturday. Would I be able to fit 285/70/17 tires on my truck without it rubbing? I have found a relatively good deal on some Cooper Discovery STT tires and thinking about buying them but I don't want to buy tires that wont fit...

    Thanks

    AJ

Silly question but is your truck a 2WD, or a 4WD?

i just put new 285/70/17 discoverer stt's on my sierra with 3 inches of lift and it only rubs ever so slightly when at full turn in reverse. Im am adding 2 inch lift coil springs sometime next week so it shouldnt rub after that, but the chevy bumper is not as fat as the gmc so i think you'll be ok with just the leveling kit. By the way i love my discoverer stt's, excellent choice for a tire, quiet on the road too. I got them for 181 a piece at selecttire.com, i'll post pics as soon as i get the lift put on

I am beginning to have second thoughts about the STT's. I do not know how much off roading I will be getting into in the near future, and it doesnt really seem necessary to have mud tires if I don't use them for what they are designed for. I do want something I can get through rough terrain in sometimes, so I was thinking the ST or ST-C would be more up my alley. Has anyone had either of those, or all three STT, ST-C, or ST that could compare it for me? I still might go with the STT because I do have potential for some off roading, and when I work on my cabin up north it would always be nice to not worry too much about getting stuck...or just to have some fun maybe...anyway, any opinion would be nice!
