    Default wireing

    hey everyone
    im new to the form and hoping someone may help i brought a 1999 2500 suburban 454 and this is minor problem, but i cant seem to fix it the overhead dome lights front and rear are not working i have changed the bulbs tried a new light switch the two reading lights work i have pulled the fixture down it look like the dome light gets its power form the same source the the reading lights even with the light switch in over ride they don't work the wire going to the light is hot and when you open the door or the over ride wheel it goes to ground i have called the person that i got it from and they said that it had always worked and they used the over ride switch to keep them off any help in this would be very helpful

    To the Site......You mentioned the Override Wheel,,which controls the lighting for the Dash Cluster,the lighting for the HVAC Controls and other items on the dash.....Have you tried the Dome Override Button??......it is located below the headlight switch,

    Went the button in push in, it turns off the Dome lights....push it again and the button will be in the out position and then your Dome lights should work, if you have power going to them..
