    Question 91 c1500 5.7l V8 tach connection

Hi, on my 5.7 v8 i have the divorced coil on the ignition and it has 2 plugs with pink and white wires on each plug. Where would I connect the green tach wire on this coil and would it be on the plug which goes to the distributor or the other. Thanks and great forum

Your tach wire goes on the (-) negative side of the coil. It would be the same one that goes to the distributor. Look close, it should be marked - or "negative". The other side of the coil is the supplied 12Volts "in" & powers the coil.

The reason I say look closely is because a coil will work even if it is wired backwards, so you should check this first before you hook up your tach.

Actually, if you follow the wiring harness away from the coil a bit, you'll find a terminal on a white wire. That's the tach lead.

Thanks for the info, there is a terminal on a white wire on the coil but its on the one that does not go to the distributor
