Here is what mine looks like...sorry for the poor quality picture but it is pitch black out and could not see what I was aiming at. Any insight on how to get by that fastener without breaking it would be much appreciated. Pulling as hard as I could didn't work.

Yea man I just ended up breaking the damn thing. It still clips back on just fine on top though. I really have no idea how they expect you to get that off without breaking it.
Now that I have it off...I have quite a few unused terminals. The big question is, which one should be used and how do I get my hands on one of those plugs to actually put into one of the empty terminals? Every time I call the dealer they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about.2009 Silverado Ext Cab WT w/ LS Chrome Package

That is a bit interesting. My guess would be a body panel tool to get under and be able to pull out on it. Looks like GM changed a few things up. I have an 2008, would have thought that would be both the same. However, I think the reason for that screw or whatever it is .. is because I can remember mine popping off occasionally if I hit it with my foot or something. So that is why they revised the design. I would try a body panel remover, or if you have audio shop or some sort see if they can help you out ... or maybe even the dealership. I'm stumped on this one.
