Well my turck gets 17.8 in the summer in AZ, and about 19.2 average in the cooler months in town. Highway a/c or not i averaged 23.5 on my way to and from Topeka, KS last 4th or july. Thats why i bought the little V8, reg cab, short bed, shes light, lol. After i get my hard bed cover (gaylord), and do some small engine retuning ill be in the money.

Oh and i almost forgot. My mustang gets about 28mpg city or highway. Everyone wants to know why i dont drop a big v8 in it, lol. Ha with that kinda mpg and about 35$ amonth for full coverage. I think not. Plus shes a show'er not a go'er.

You touch on a good point. Driving style really does make a major impact on your MPG. The same vehicle, all things being equal, one driver might get 20 MPG and other gets 12 MPG, just becuase one takes it easy and another is heavy on the throttle.

one of the options My 1976 Buick has, is a color coded fuel usage gauge, as part of the speedo cluster. it reads low usage :green, medium usage :yellow, and high usage :red
I have found it very useful so far. here's a pic showing it: it's in the far right corner of the pic
