Default 2003 1500hd Reduce Engine Power New throttle body

Experienced the reduce engine power status about a month ago then went away. Last night got it again twice on the way home. Turned off engine, waited 5 mins and it reset itself. Called dealer and they suggested a new throttle body. If im going to spend 300 on a stock from the dealer, what after market high performance is out there I can get. See the spacers available from everyone and their brother for about 90 bucks. Any suggestions on what new throttle body and where to get on line. and would i need a spacer as well.

Welcome to the club. First I've never heard of a throttlebody going bad. I would remove the throttlebody and clean both sides with some CRC throttlbody cleaner and a old soft toothbrush, DON'T use carb cleaner. If it happens again than get the truck scanned for codes. Don't waste your money on a aftermarket throttlebody, the stock throttlebody will flow enough for over 500hp. Theres been people on this site that have tried the aftermarket t/bodies and they say there a headache or just don't see a differance. $300 seems like alot of money for a stock t/body. I purchased a new t/body for my '05, 5.3 from ScogginDickey.com for less than 175 dollars shipped. ( I had my t/body off my truck and my black lab took it off into the woods, never to be found LOL. I still love her). The throttlebody spacers really don't do anything.
