    Default tranny troubles

ok so i start up my burb this morning and i get started off to work and i notice when i am going it will rev and keep on going and keep on going and keep on going and then it'll shift... and then when i let off the gas it sounds like the engine is working freely and not on gear... like when i get on the highway and slow down and then speed back up it will sound very very wrong....idk what is wrong.... i hope the tranny is not dying.... if this helps there is a leak that is coming from that general area... could it be a leak?

When's the last time you checked the fluid level? Sounds to me like it's low...

Just because it was fixed doesnt mean there cant be a leak in a line, or radiator. Check the level, and find the leak.

ok wow there is almost no fluid in there.... my mechanic better have a d*** good explanation why this is doing this... i have had to have him take this tranny out 3 TIMES!!!! and had to pay him each time... over 1k invested in this problem so far... the first time the seal broke, 2nd the seal fell out of place bcuz he didnt put the brace back in, 3rd this leak

    Default tranny leak

if the torque converter hub to pump seal is continually ejected from a th700r4 trans, excessive pump pressure is leaking into cavity behind seal. this problem was addressed in the early 90's with drilling a relief hole from cavity to oil return passage to pan. The reason the leak happens is that machining tolerances were too wide at pump to trans case mating surfaces causing high pressure leak. I am not sure where to get the specific info anymore...I have'nt fixed autos professionally since 1999. I know there was a boat load of tsb's for this problem...so a gm dealer is a good place to start.

Also, you were describing a high, late shift condition as well at a shift flare, most likely cause is a lack of hydraulic pressure on forward clutch drum (read SLIPPING). Trans really needs to be disassembled and have clutch packs inspected and restacked with new friction discs minimum.

Good luck with your "technician" to make the right choices and repairs.
