    Default huge dead spot in steering

    i have a 2005 1500. 6 inch lift with 35's. the truck drives strait down the road. dosn't pull to one side or the other. but i have a dead spot fro top dead center to about 3 o'clock position. im thinking the steering box. any help and ifo would be great thanks

    Welcome to the GM truck club. I'd agree given your description it most likely would be the box, but can't wrap my mind around it happening on an '05.. Is this an extremely high miler? Is this dead spot actually free play that you can feel? Before you fault the box, I would check all tie rod ends, pitman, idler etc. Also put a helper in the cab & have them turn the wheel from 12 to 3 oclock & see if you can see any play.

    No rev limiter, No speed limiter lol

    thanks ill have my dad try and look at it more. im currently deployed and hes the one driving it.
