Default Spedo problem in early Avalanches?

I've heard that there can be speed problems in some of the 2002 & 2003 Analanches. Anyone experienced this?

Here is the key: CALL GM, others have called them and GM has agreed to replace it as a manufacturers defect, but there is no recall on it. This can be done for vehicles that have even been over 50k miles.

Never experienced it. Any idea what the actual problem was? (didn't work, wrong speed...)

Sticking spedo, sometimes jumping up and pegging at 120. Some of them just go out and no longer function. Sometimes it will go back and forth between 0 and 120 and then will park somewhere else.
