Default 6.0 L VortecMAX V8 with VVT and Active Fuel Management, 366 hp (265 kW) (late 2006)

Wow, anyone have the 6.0 L VortecMAX V8 with VVT and Active Fuel Management, 366 hp (265 kW) in their Avalanche? That's quite an improvement in HP over previous years.

    Unhappy 2007 yukon xl

is anyone familiar with the new 6.0 in the yuxon 3/4 ton? we had a2005 suburban lt with an 8.1 and the yukon was the only one with the 6.0 available last year. i see now that you can get the 6.0 in the subs now. we really miss the 8.1! we have had three subs and we would like to hope chevy would offer the 8.1 again as we've found that we got 16 mpg. with it on a trip and we get 12.3 w/6.0 and significantly less power and performance!

    please help,

    chtree

All specs I found listed it as 345 HP and 380 ft LB's torque except the Avalanche, which show's 366 HP and 386 ft lb's torque. Hmmmm, wonder why ?

chtree, that's why your feeling lees power. The 8.1 is 365 HP and 450ft lb's torque. The lower toque #'s are what your feeling. Or "not" feeling......
