Default 2004 Tahoe Frame VIN Number

Need help desperately. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe theft recovery, where the theives removed all of the commonly known VIN label locations. I am trying to locate a VIN number stamped on the frame. I have it up on a lift and cannot locate it. I need to replace the PCM and need the original VIN for programming. Any help is greatley appreciated.

Welcome to the GMTC. I don't know where any of the secret ones are. GM & law enforcement like to keep that info to themselves, but the State Police know. Call them & explain your situation & see if they will tell you. If they won't tell you over the phone, they will set an appointment to check it for you, but they may not let you watch them while they read it.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the state police theft recovery unit had the car for a week and ended up generating a generic VIN for me, as they could not find the original VIN. I just cant believe that the VIN is no where else to be found.

What about DMV ? Or the original owner will have it on the title, or is this vehicle so clean that the police don't even know who it belonged to before the theft? If that's the case I would define the year & engine options & have the GM dealer pick the PCM that way. Same goes for the programming.
