    Default are headers really worth it?

    I have heard recently that headers aren't worth the money nor the effort to put on the 5.3l anyone else have any input or experience saying otherwise?

    That would be true if the manufacturer was putting tuned exhaust manifolds on the engines but they don't, and probably never will, since it's not cost effective.

    another forum im on chevytalk.org I havent gotten any bad advice from them yet and on this occasion i was pretty currious they also said that a cold air intake wouldnt do any good either but that sounds like bad info to me

    Doesn't sound like reliable advice to me. IMO

    both are good for hp and torque gains
    i think K&n rates 15 or so hp with a cat back plus cold air intake
    add a set of headers you are probably looking at 18 to 20 more.
    what they are saying may be that the $$ and effort to get them in may not be as beneficial as they had hoped until
    you start adding big bolt ons! as in S/C or turbo.

    well i found a set of shorty headers for 200 and im installing my self since its just bolt on so It sounds like it would be worth it to me.

    I got a 03 silverado 5.3L with cold air intake, programmer, throttle body spacer, what little performance mods can i do?

    exhaust, low temp thermostat, mass air sensor, lightened pulleys, etc. there are several fairly inexpensive upgrades that make all the difference in the world.

    propz 1 low rider, i want to get headers but idk. your license plate into the tailgate is dope, iwant a new look havent did any n awhile.
