You leave your dog in the back of your truck when you go in a store. When you come out, he's sitting in the back of a Chevy three parking spaces over, pretending like he doesn't see you..

they paid back an 8 billion dollar loan if I remember correctly and then stated they paid in full (as there were different govt loans to them). If they werent owned by the government they would have gotten in trouble for the advertising of it(yes they had ads stating it), but no they havent paid it all back.

GM owes the government through 3 piles of money. A real loan around $6B, preferred stock in the new GM, ordinary shares in the new GM. Since the bailout, GM has paid back the actual loan but they did it by slight of hand by using TARP money. For the shares, remember that the new GM had its IPO, the government sold some of its shares to recoup some of the value (about $12B).

I got an email from gm, i have a Credit Card thats GM, and it stated that they paid back all bailout money the government gave them like 4 years earlier than they had too, blah blahhhhh. I wrote them back that if they didnt have their heads up their backsides, they wouldnt have needed it in the first place. giving out all them bonuses to execs, is ridicolous. but im a loyal gm owner and they know that
