Default 2002 Trailblazer- I thought it would hold up better than it is.........

In 2002 we bought a 2002 Trailblazer LT-loaded with nearly every option. We don't drive the truck a whole lot so the poor fuel mileage isn't a big issue....anyway, you can't expect a 5000+ pound 4x4 to due very well in that area.

True , the truck is 9 years old-but it just turned 28,500 miles. It is always garaged and has never been "off-road". Maybe someone who has owned a few of these or driven more miles can tell me if this is just "normal for a TB". When it is cold outside (like below 20 degrees) it seems to have a low pitched whine/moan that goes away when it gets warmed up. Also, the transmission shifts seem to be......crisper. That also gets better once it warms up. My wife -who drove this every day until I traded in my nice sedan on a new smaller SUV for her-said it has always been like that. Now that I am driving the "old truck" just to put some miles on it-I wonder. If it's like this at 28,500....I can't wait to see what this drives like at 50,000.

This TB has been very well maintained and never mistreated. Anyone know if the trade-in on them has been hurt by the fact that they no longer make them?
    Thanks.

Well some if from sitting, and the whine is most likely a dry serp belt. We have that happen on a lot of the vehicles up here in MN. So mabey look into replacing it. Since not driving a vehicle enough is actually much harder on them than putting alot of miles on them.
