Thread: Points

    Default Points

Is there a thread someone can direct me to in order to figure out the points system. I see it on there, but just am curious on how to earn points and if it is a big deal if you are not gaining them like some others around the site!

I think it's just a feature that is included with this forum package. I don't know that many people really pay much attention to it. In fact, I constantly forget that it even exists. You get points for posts, threads, uploading pictures, completing your profile, etc.

Click on 'My Profile' at the top of this page and then click on your 'Experience' tab. It is next to 'Visitor Messages', 'About Me', and 'Friends'. If you scroll down from there, you can see where you have earned points and what for. That should give you a pretty good idea.

Other than that, other users can give you "Reputation" points for well explained or helpful posts. They do this by clicking the icon at the bottom of each user's post that looks like a Sheriff's badge. Hope this helps.

    Good explanation Vin.

Marty, In addition to gaining points, you can also lose points. Just ask Dare Devil (Scott) how to lose 100 really fast, ha ha ha

DareDevil, aka Scott, posted a pic of a naked chick on one of the threads. He lost 100 points & got a stern reprimand. The best thing to do is read the site rules Marty. It explains what you can & can't do & also the site is rated PG-13, but it is not the same as TV or Movie rating PG-13. It is more strict so you can't say things that you hear & see on TV everyday. This makes it a bit confusing but if you error on the side of caution, you'll be alright..
