Default Problem getting the spark plug wires out from the engine

I bought a 2001 GMC sierra last year it had 70000 miles on it, I recently hit the 100000 mile mark and I want to change the spark plugs but I'm having trouble getting the park plug wires off I went to my local GMC Dealership and they told me they just cut them off but I don't want to cut the wire and still have the same problem. Getting the plug boot out from the motor so is there some mystical way to pull these boots out from the engine

Just grap them by the boot and twist side to side. When reinstalling put a little dielectric grease in the boots. You can find the d/grease at most auto parts stores.

I have had success by using a pair of pliars and pulling on the metal heat shield around the plug. Tough pull but does not pull wire out of boot and you can reuse the assembly. X2 on di-electric grease.
