Default Electric fan and RPM adjust

    91 Chevy Sub 1500, 5.7, 700r4/4L60, 3:42 gears, 4X4.

Doing the typical newbie thing here and asking a lot of questions but I have just had this rig for a couple of months and am absolutely in love with it. I recently found a dual fan set up at the local pull and save and they only want $35.00 for it. The only thing stopping me from getting it and replacing the mechanical fan is was wondering if I will have to take it to my mechanic to have the idle RPM reset? I broke an alternator belt one time on a ford tempo and I thought it was going to tear it self apart at idle.

I wouldn't imagine that the fan would make much difference at idle. But let me know how it works. I have the same Sub and am seriously considering the electric fan. I do a lot of playing in the desert at low speed and low RPM. Gets hot pretty quickly...

If you have EFI the computer adjusts for engine load itself and there is nothing a mechanic can really do to it.
