    hey my names zak and im new here im recently doing a tranny swap on my 1988 2wd chevy with a 700r4 looking to put in the same tranny any help on the year models i could pull it from that would just be an easy bolt back on

    Welcome, Zak. I found a link that may help you with identifying which 700 you need. 700's were produced pretty much '82 to '92, with the same gear ratios, though some had different input shafts (27 or 30 spline) which could cause you some issues.

    Welcome to the club Zak. I'm assuming you're going with the 700R4 for the overdrive & the better gas mileage. As Jess said above there are 2 different input shafts spline counts. I would recommend the 30 as it is stronger. Get the newest one you can find & the one with the lowest miles if you have more than one to choose from. It will require a 30 spline convertor so check your old one. My '88 has the 350 ci & all those years of 700R4 will bolt right up so unless you have swapped in/out something strange they should all bolt up to yours.

    No rev limiter, No speed limiter lol
