Always glad when something turns out to be a quick and (fairly) inexpensive fix. $200 for a cat sucks, but a hell of a lot better than 1k for transmission repairs!Jess

Yea, for sure man. I'm glad the Suburban is fixed.
Now if I can just get my camaro to run right !

ya know i have the same problem with my 02 4.3 silverado, it sounds like its coming from the trans area but... it also sounds like its the cat! now what happens inside them to make this noise?? and also ive checked all my fuild levels all good, shifts fine also i can rev it up in neutral and park it sill makes the noise but it has to be around 2000 rpm to really hear it oh btw i have about 100,000 miles on it also i started to use that startron fuel additive for the crap gas we have around here. sorry for highjacking your post!!!

its the honeycomb stuff inside that eventually breaks apart and starts to rattle.David
