Thread: electric fans??

how would i go about changing my mechanical fan to a electric fan? im sure it will just bolt in but im really not sure about the wiring?? can i get one out of a newer silverado... I have a 1999 4.8l2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO LT

cant i just find a wrecked 2005 and up and take the fans and wiring to it... i do not want to reprogram the cpu like some of these sites recommend... i thought this would be easy.

The ecm is what turns the fans off and on. Look at some aftermarket companies like Flex-a-Lite for dual fan kits.

I've been looking into it for my 98, Been told one from a Lincoln MarkVIII moves alot of air and is easy to install.

Ford Taurus 3.8L is the highest flowing factory installed electric fan you can buy. and use a wiring harness as recommended.Mike

Does the Taurus have a dual fan? Or single like the big Lincoln
