Default Newbie from Tiger Country - Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Hey everyone just bought a 2008 Silverado and haven't been this excited about a vehicle since I bought my first car, a 1966 mustang in 1972. Been doing the family thing all these years, now it's my turn!

Looking forward to some insite on add ons for my truck. First thing up I'm looking at an undecover tonneau, any pros and cons?

Welcome to the club and congrats on the truck! I definitely know how the excitement goes. These Silverados are rewarding just to drive!

I can't help you with any details on different tonneau covers but I'm sure someone will chime in soon. Again, welcome aboard!

Welcome from your neighbor to the Southeast & congrats on the new Chevy also. As far as the Undercover top, my cousin put one on his Colorado a couple of years ago and he loves it. It looks really good on there, and can be taken off pretty easily if needed. If I didn't have the need for my camper top, I probably would have got one myself. He picked it up in Gulfport, MS the same time I got my top. They had better deals than any of the dealers here in NOLA, plus they were a whole hell of a lot friendlier. I didn't even check with Baton Rouge stores at the time, but maybe you can find a good deal. Good luck to you!

    Wttc!

I've had 2 different styles of bed covers. One was on a step side 2000 silverado and it overlapped the bed rails and hung over a bit. It looked great on the step side but I wouldn't want it on a fleet side. I've also had on that sat on top of the bed rails which also looked great on the fleet side but I wouldn't want it on a step side. Both were semi permanent so they were simple to take on and off but it took 2 people and a bit of time so there were meant to be left on.

I haven't had much experience with different brands other than A.R.E. That was what was on the fleet side and it looked great. It mimicked the contour of the hood (2003 2500hd).

    Hope this helps a bit
