    Default 245 on a 8" rims

    Hi,

    Can anyone confirm that a 245 tire will fit on a 8" wide rim?
    2000 Silverado 5.3L Z71 4x4: K&N air filter, Procomp 16x8 rims, 285/70R16 Toyo AT2s, Kenwood head unit, Alpine 500.1 amp, 12" kicker, Infinity 5.25" speakers, Bilstein HD shocks, EBC GD Sport dimple & slotted front rotors w. EBC green stuff pads, Brembo slotted rear rotors & HIDs.

    X2, yes it will fit. Here is some info if you want to double check (I used 70/17s, so you will have to enter the size you are looking for.

    Yes they will fit. Have 275/45-20's on my wifes Trailblazer with 20X8 Helo's so the 245 will be fine on a 8" wheel.

    Can I add another, "yes, they will fit fine." with another reason why. If you look at the specification sheets that tire manufacturers put out (some sites like tirerack have them, too), you will see that manufacturers usually like to see the rim width be between about 65% and 90% of the section width. 8 inches is about 200 mm, which is about 82% of 245 mm. Well within the accepted rim width for a 245 mm tire.
