    Default 03 CV axel replacement?

I know that I have a bad driver side CV axel. I took it to a local mechanic and they ordered 2 different ones and both did not fit. Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to find the right one so I don't have to deal with them wasting my time anymore?

maybe go to a chevy dealer and not just a joe blow mechanic ???? Sorry, but i always feel that people are waisting time and money trying to do stuff when they could get it done for less in the end although it sounds more at the begining !

I can look it up for you tomorrow and tell you the OEM part number for your vehicle if you give me the VIN !

Yeah X2 on getting the right part number yourself so you don't have to rely on Joe Schmoe the wanna be mechanic. DDevil can do it for you or you can go to compnine.com & get your part number etc. Or you could order it from Steve who runs this site & probably get a better deal dollar wise than from your mechanic who has already ordered the wrong part twice lol
Also if you have any mechanical experience at all, you can do the axel replacement your self & save some money

I had the same problem with several parts stores, my local NAPA store got me a complete reman CV axle for $100.00. These axles are easy to change. You will need a 36mm for the outer CV. The inner flange is allen heads (I forget thr size). Just put the truck on jack stands, when you get the bolts out just push in on the CV joint from the axle flange and pull out.

My VIN number is 2GCEK19T731254302. The noise is getting worse and I need to change it soon. Thanks for the help, I really do appreciate it.
