    Default GMTC Needs: More memory

Before we move to a new web host/server later this year, I need to prep the development computer with more memory.

This is an older 2.2 GHz celeron processor that takes PC2100 (or PC2700/3200) DDR. Right now it's got one 512MB card and one 256MB card .

Does anyone have any spare memory they're willing to donate to the site?
I'm aware that this is a bit of an older computer and I'm wondering if anyone had any extra unused memory that they could part with? I'd like to find two 1GB memory cards to help out this development system. If not, even one 1GB or one 512MB cards would help out.

Maybe there is more than one person with a spare memory card?

Let me know, in exchange I'll give a year of free Platinum sponsorship membership on this site and we'll sing songs about you.

    Steve,
I have 1gig (2 sticks of 512mb) PC3200 DDR that I pulled out of my rig when I upgraded to 2 gigs. I will donate if they will work.

I looked it up and this is the exact memory I have.

Ok, if no one comes forward with any 1GB cards (which might be unlikely) then I'll take you up on that. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer. The wife says I spend too much money on this stuff, so I'm glad to see that people will be willing to help out the site.

    Also considering Motherboard/CPU.
If anyone has upgraded their Motherboard/CPU (or have an unused computer that is faster than what I have now) let me know. I would also consider adding on a third hard drive that I could just use for backups to the database, which is getting pretty big and they can take up a lot of room.

This computer currently has the following setup:

CPU:CPU, CEL-2.2G/128K/F400,mPGA478,SL6RW -- This could be faster to help speed up development

Video: 64MB video card - could be better, anyone have something lesser just lying around? Like a ATI RADEON 9250SE or so.

I had a couple of messages about old processors. Basicly, this computer can take a Pentium 4 socket 478 CPU at a Front Side Bus speed of 400. If anyone has an unused CPU with that it in, let me know. It can't be a 533 or 800 FSB, has to be 400.

    Thanks.

OK, you are way above my head talking about this junk. I have a computer or two that no longer work and you are welcome to anything in them, but I have no idea what's there. I will look when I get to work tomorrow to give you some info, but if it is something you can use, you can have it. I know there is memory there, but I have no clue as to what it is. Maybe a big block, maybe a small block or maybe a straight six... that I will understand.
