I just bought an Illinois truck with good rear doors, must be the metal in your particular car.

I have the same rust problem on my 1994 suburban but only on the rear "passenger" doors. Haven't been able to find a body shop that is willing to do anything about it. Nor have I been able to find replacements. Had the idea that I could have them wraped with sheet metal but can't find anyone who does that either.
