Exhaust Question-tapping noise?
Silverado 5.3 2010 w/ 6 speed and 3.08 rear end.
I notice when the truck is accelerating and such, the engine/exhaust sounds perfect.
But when it is crusing around 40-50mph, and i give it some light gas, I can hear like a lugging or tapping on the drivers side exhaust. Anyone else notice this?
the truck drives fine, so I think the sound is exhaust related. but it only shows up at that low gear/ low rpm. I have been told it could be becuase there is a bend in the exhuast under the drivers seat which can tend to more sound.
IF anyone has a chance, please let me know you thoughts. Thanks

I haven't had anything like that on my 5.3
However, My parents had kind of the same thing happen on their 04 Dodge Ram Hemi right after they first got it.. Would make a tap under a light acceleration.. the dealership ended up replacing some kind of "exhaust flange gasket" where the header connects to the rest of the exhaust system... maybe it's the same?
