How to add Images and Videos to your posts on GM Truck Club Forum

How to Add Photos to your Posts and Threads on GMTC.
We want to see your truck, and GMTC allows you to post images inside your messages on the forum. Please follow this advice so you too can upload good photos and post them to your thread.

    - Each photo must be less than 2 MB max.
    - Please do not upload thumbnails or very-small images.
    - Consider creating your own Album ~ especially for a lot of images.
    - We auto-resize upon uploading to the proper format.
    - jpg, gif or png images work best, but we support other formats.

    - Please give a general description and a description for each photo.

WAYS TO INSERT PHOTOS INTO A THREAD

    A) Upload Photos from your Computer ~ Easy.
The Insert Image button (next to the email icon) on the toolbar allows you to upload multiple photos from your own computer. You will be able to insert these photos into your new thread when they have finished.

    B) Upload From a Website / Photo Host ~ Easy. The Insert Image button also allows you to upload multiple photos from another website or a photo host like Photobucket. Please CHECK the box "Retrieve remote file and reference locally", this will help the site load faster.

    C) Add Images from your Album on GMTC ~ Moderate. If you have already uploaded photos to your own gallery album on GMTC, you can add the BB Code that ONLY YOU CAN SEE on your own Album page. In another brower window, you can sort through your photos and select the BB code and simply insert that code into the new post being made and your photos will appear when you hit save.

    D) Manage Attachments ~ Advanced. You may also use the built-in Manage Attachments feature built-into the posting page. This allows you to quickly insert photos you have just previously uploaded to GMTC and then insert them inline. This is more advanced, but it's well worth the time to learn how to do this.

I want to bump this thread. I would really like people to not use photobucket at least for ROTM submissions. You can quickly and easily upload photos to the site using the above command.

Can we upload PDF files to topics for things like pages out of owners' manuals, test instruction lists? This would really be handy as PDF is readily available for reading by any computer and the quality of the text is much better than uploading as a pic and is very small in kbs. I think I tried a while ago and it did not allow me to upload that format.
