NV246 Shifter Shaft Knowledge?
1998 Suburban with the dash mounted push-button AutoTrac system.
Anyone have experience with the NV246 transfer case specifically relating to the shifter shaft and the number of positions and direction of each?
The truck was locked in 4LO (shifter motor issue). This weekend I was able to get the shifter shaft to rotate manually after dropping the front and rear driveshafts.
I was expecting to find four positions on the shaft but only found three. One is definitely neutral... Selected what I thought was 2HI but when driving it sometimes it felt like 4HI. It is definitely no longer in 2LO.
Any advise would be appreciated. New to transfer cases but not wrenching...
