Had this problem recently on my wifes 08 HHR.
I had to use a slim-jim to pop the door lock, not an easy thing to do on newer vehicles.
I couldnt get the drivers door so I ended up getting the drivers rear door, it was a little easier.
For the next few days the wife was afraid to use the door locks and kept leaving the car unlocked (oh well I guess thats what full coverage ins. is for).
We put the car in the shop and they couldnt find anything wrong with the locks, the linkage for the drivers door key lock had no visible problems and worked perfectly (of course, do they ever fail when the mechanics around?).
2 days after coming out of the shop it happened again, On Star unlocked the car for her this time (to bad I didnt think of that the first time before I spent 20 minutes with the slim jim). Never figured out why On Star could unlock the car when none of the remotes would.
Unfortunately at this time the shop still cant figure out why the key or the remote wont unlock the doors every once in a while, they did replace our remotes free of charge under warranty (twice now), it was considered a safety hazard. Dont know if you have any warranty left but if you do it might be worth a try.
The dealer found out that our remotes werent working correctly for other functions, 1 wouldnt unlock the back hatch and the other wouldnt operate the remote start function.
BTW if you find yourself needing new remotes GM parts on this site was the lowest guaranteed price for OEM GM replacements, I found cheaper remotes on ebay but dont want to trust knock offs.

Well ..........the locksmith guy got in
said the alarm went of because it thought some one was breaking in
he put he key in and started it then turned it off
    then the key fobs worked
    Strange
key still not working in the door cylinder so he is going to check that out
I don't know why the remote locks (fobs) didn't work and now they do
hate to lock it up again
