Thumbs up Anyone ever replace their fuel pump - 2001 Silverado HD???

My "Beast of Burden" is past 95k and the fuel gauge has been loopy ever since an accident in 2003. I'm considering replacing the fuel pump assy. Anyone ever do this job?? Is is a bitch on wheels or a piece of cake?? I'm actually thinking of cutting the floor of the bed to gain access to the top of the tank instead of dropping the tank. Any/all thoughts welcome!!
You're driving is WAY more offensive than my swearing, assjack!!!

I would just remove the bed. Its a few bolts and 4 MEN should be able to lift it off. Or you can use an engine hoist.

X2, take off the bed. My Wife , 15 year old daughter , 21 year old son and myself were able to remove and install mine with ease. Granted I only have the 5 1/2 foot bed!
