    Default remove4l60e from 93 cheyenne install 4l60 from 92 cheyenne

    Can i remove a 4l60e from a 93 cheyenne and install a 4l60 from a 92 cheyenne in its place? THE mount appears to be the same. I am unsure about back up trigger. 4l60 has 4 pin connector 4l60e has multi pin. is the back up ckt in 4 pin connector ? Will not using E connector cause any problems? Also installing the 92 4.3l . looking at the l60 shifting is mechanical and has mechanical cable activated passing kick down. l60e is still usable but don't have confidence in it and costly to rebuild. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is in process over memorial day weekend.

    The 92 is a 700R4 and will not be an exact swap.. you will need to swap the wiring harness over to make it work like factory. 1993 is the first year for the 4L60E

    thank you for the prompt reply. We don't have 92 truck or harness son traded for rims and tires for 93. not concerned about working like factory, will the 700r4 work properly with out the input/out of the 4 pin connector? If yes I will take multi-meter and test 4 pin for a useable switch curcuit for back up or install microswitch or in cab toggle. Will multi-pin connecter disconnected cause engine odb problems?

    The 700R4 will not work with out being hooked up to the PCM since the 700R4 in those trucks does take electrical input. It sounds like you might just need to find another 4l60E for it to work.

    thanks for the insight currently reinstalling 4l60e . he can run it till it dies by then will have located replacement or a different truck.
    Again thanks a million for your help! ANYONE LOOKING FOR A GOOD USED 700r4 ?
