JET performance!

i bought a stage 2 jet performance chip for my 1994 silverado 4x4.
i just got it put in today and people are telling me i wasted my money. Do you think i wasted my money on it? and if so why.

also i got a B&M shift kit.

do you think those 2 things will do a little performance wise for my truck ?

You tell us? You installed the chip today, what were the results?
Are you happy with it? If you are then it was worth it, if not...

i dont know if it was worth the 150.

you can feel a little bit of a difference in it but i dunno.

i wouldnt waste the money on it.
but hey there are different brands of chips

IMO I don't think the chips do very much. I like the programmable stuff better. As for the shift kit, unfortunately it'll probably do sqwat for you except firm up shifting. 2nd will feel pretty horny, maybe chirp the tires going into 2nd

I think I'll skip the chip and go for dual exhaust with a pair of performance cats. I'd like to get into actual programming of the EEPROM, but right now I don't have the time. Of course, I might sell the beast and find me a K2500 with a big block. Yeah, thats the ticket. There is no substitute for cubic inches.

if your going to do anything that a chip would do i would take your truck to a tunning shop have them program your ecu for supporting mods such as bigger injectors, exuast, intake, or anything else you may have. you may not have this option so you may have to send it off to a shop and have them do it but the best way is if they can use your vehicle on a dyno to obtain the best results. otherwise its probably not worth the money for a cheap chip, but proven piggyback systems work as well but they are just tricking the ecu for instance the apexi safcII works well but its a pain to tune it to a good setting but it works, im sure there are alot of other good piggyback systems but the best option is having your ecu tuned by a reputable shop.
