Chevy CK AT problem or MT swap
I have a 1990 chevy superduty 1500. It's got the 350 under there. Problem is that it started eating ATs. My father, who is far more patient than myself, has run this thing into the shop for 6 ATs. Fortunately he only paid for the first one as they have all blown before 1000 miles.
1) Whats going on with the AT? Is there something which should be done or should not be done? Is this a common problem?
2) Swapping an MT - what do I need to grab?
My shopping list:
* shift knob, boot
* clutch assembly
* truck nuts
Do I need:
* gearbox for 4WD?
* steering column?

Welcome to the club. Sounds like you just need to get your money back and fine a new transmission shop.:cool:
