    Default mesothelioma information

Does anyone know what mesothelioma is and why are there so many commercials about it on TV these days?

It's an inflamation of the lungs from breathing asbestos. In our industry you used to get it from breathing it in while doing brake & clutch jobs. They used a lot of it because of the high temps associated with these parts, but I think they got it all out of them now (except for maybe Chinese, Tiawanese, & Japanese manufacturers)

It is a cancer of the outside lining on the lungs and chest cavity.
It is mostly caused by long term exposure to asbestos.
Folks at high risk-anyone who worked with asbestos or asbestos manufacturing.
OR anyone who lived in a home of a worked in and industry that had heavy exposure.
It ia on TV because there have been HUGE awards-Billions- set aside as a settlement for these workers.Lawyers want their cut-hence the TV ads.
Asbestosis is a fibrous destruction of the lungs-not cancer- caused by long term exposure to asbestos- it involves inflammation-makes it hard to breath-a lot like what hard rock miners get.
Johns Manville and other corps put out HUGE sums for this award. Lawyers want their cut!

PS Mesothelioma is practically untreatable and usually fatal in short order-year or so.
Asbestosis is barely treatable-like BLACK LUNG DISEASE- no really good treatment

So Lawyers, like vultures, circle those who are dying so they can make money off of them before they die.

Heck, they make money off them AFTER they die!
The ads say if youe "loved one" has or had (died)- please call us.
Yeah, the cheezy law firms are getting 40% or more of the billions of $$.
Same story with the multi billion $$ cigarette settlement. The lawyers waited until the sentiment was anti cigarette company to ponce on cigarettes-them they swooped in to cash in.

The reason they are so prevalent is the age group associated with it because of timing...typically its a chronic, late-in-life disease and asbestos was phased out heavily in the early 70s (yes its still around, but typically only special applications). The likelihood of someone born in the 70s being exposed to asbestos is greatly reduced from those that worked with it before the 70s. The ship builders during WWII would be covered with white asbestos fibers at the end of the day from spraying it on the inside of the ship (fire proof insulation)...point being, they didn't know it was potentially harmful at that point so no safety precautions were taken by employers or workers.

The age of people who were exposed to it (mainly the baby boomers) is hitting right when they would be seeing the symptoms of it...so they are just targeting the current industrial health problem of the day because those industries are thought to have deep pockets.

There's also a 30 billion dollar trust fund set aside for mesothelioma victims ... and the vultures are looking for mesothelima victims that allow them to take bites out of that 30 billion dollar pie ... and collect their percentage (which is probably 30% or thereabouts).

Pretty sure the Vultures-Lawyers-get more like 40%!
They usually get 1/3 + all expenses-usually 40% or so.

It was known that asbestos was bad by the 1930's-some Brit study I think
But it wasn't widely accepted as bad until the late 1960's
Much like cigarettes-in the 1950's-we- 8 year old kids-called them coffin nails-so if a child knows-all the adults KNOW
But of course the tobacco business didn't agreee
    Charlie
PS-Th lawyers-for the most part-don't come in until the great mass of the public is rwady to agree with them-and they can make a pile of easy $$$
They RARELY lead the way(some did-most just came in when there was easy $$)
    Like the asbestos FUND-
On another NOTE- the SILICONE Breast Implant causes autoimmune diseases-pure BS scam-made lawyers $1 billion or so! The other two were poisons-so the vultures make money even when it is BS-shakedown artists
