Hand wash is head and shoulders better than machine washing at the car wash. It may take longer but what better way to inspect your truck as you clean

No vote for not washing at all??? I have never once washed any of my vehicles. The only times my car got washed was when it got an oil change and the dealership did it as part of the oil change. Otherwise, nothing gets washed. A coating of dirt and grime doesn't hurt anything.Christopher

I used to hand wash my truck every week, regardless if it needed it or not. But now since im not in college anymore and i got kiddos running around the house, its best if i take it somewhere. I just don't have the time to donate for a had car wash. I KNOW that i can do a better job myself, but i just dont have the time.
I guess i got the best of both world though, there is a hand wash car wash place where you can leave your truck there and its only 7 bucks!

I usually like to hand wash my truck but I haven't been able to lately because of water restrictions resulting from the extreme drought we're having here in Central Texas. The fires have only made matters worse. So.... recently I've been going through the drive-through car wash. But I'm picky... those laser wash car washes don't do very good at all. I like to find the ones with the spinning rags that really get in there and get the dirt off.

Have used coin spray wash for touch up and hand washed the first time yesterday , forgot how much more work there is than with a car. The hardest is trying to dry it off with the humidity before bugs and leafs stick to it, used detailer wax and glass cleaner for water spots. Plenty of automated car washes around but don't want to risk scratches , hand wash service is $25 - $30 need that for gas and groceries.

I would love to say that I hand wash my truck everytime. But I tell you what, there is a place by me that charges 5 bucks to do a pretty decent job at washing my truck. It is a drive thru type where I stay in the truck, but they have a couple guys in there doing the washing. I don't think that I can beat it for 5 bucks, plus free use of vacuums. I just can't pass that up.Dave V. -- Riverside, California
