Default tire pressure sensors on 2008 HD 2500

I just had my rear tires replaced at 38,000 miles. I was surprised to see that I was charged $20 to rebuild my tire pressure monitors. I was not having a problem w/ them at any time. Does this sound like normal maintenance?

I think more preventative maintenance & probably will save you some money down the road. Better to do them now since the tires are off anyway, rather than somewhere down the road when one fails & you have to pay for dismounting, mounting, & balancing again.

Ask them what they did.. I know on my 08 Av the sensors do screw off. But some tire centers don't do things right and they brake the valve and they have to replace them..

I've changed tires everyday for the last couple of years. I've never heard of having to rebuild a wheel sensor, probably because they don't get rebuilt, but replaced. Sounds bogus to me. They probably broke one and charged you to replace it.
