Out threw the grill is your best bet, since your by yourself. Then you don't have to lift motor to high. (Ask Patrick) Are you just going to disconnect air or are you going to have air again?

I'm gonna leave the A/C box in place, to have the heater/defrost operational.(leaving heater core in place)
once this engine is out, I will go ahead and degrease the engine bay, and repaint it before winter,so I will have that done, ready for the transplanting later this year.

I'm going to do the same thru the grille thing when I pull the engine from the regal.

    as for A/C, I'll use the :4/120 system: 4 windows down, 120 mph ;)

since my garage is not heated, I may go ahead, and do the swapping now, while the weather's nice, and leave the small details for later.

hope to have the greasy 6 banger out this week

well, today was the "coming out party" for the tired v6, and 1 way trans (no reverse, forward only) I couldn't locate a engine hoist, so I used a come along, and let the engine roll off the end of the k member. then I pulled the trans out seperately.

I will make sure I have a hoist when I pull my good engine out.

    here's the pics:

Atta boy, What would taking out an engine be like without a little "Potty" mouth. Your getting there, looks like fun. Wish I was there.

next step, is to degrease the engine bay,put my big block frame pads in, and then kill a few of those"daddy longleg" spiders that I saw crawling up under the rear axle/gas tank area before I crawl under there (I hate those things)
