    Default MPG for this beast....

Since the official Government MPG site, nor anyone else list the MPG for this truck, I thought I'd ask. Anyone have something like this and what do you usually get MPG. I don't need a contest, just honesty. This is a 2wd, auto, WT with the 6.0 gas burner. I will also be towing a 5.5X8 enclosed trailer with my tools in it. I have an S-10 with a 4.3 thats getting 14.5 with the trailer, 18city/21hwy without the trailer now.

You will honestly get about 13-14 with the trailer and mabey 15 without the trailer.. And a high of 16 empty on the highway. In town if you have the trailer you can expect 10-12mpg... The 6.0L is a bit thirsty but lasts a very long time, and will have more power than you can ever use.

Figured as much, but had to ask. I'm looking for something like this, but 5.3 or maybe a Duramax. I have been told the 6.0 likes gas, and most of my driving will be in town and to and from the firehall.
    Thanks again for you help!

Murdog94's numbers look about right to me.
I'm a bit of a mpg fanatic- so I follow these things closely.
In city driving it depends a lot on average trip distance.
Vehicles get much poorer mpg for the 1st 2 miles or so.The ECU is set to run rich and get the catcon up to temp. If your catcon is cool the ECU makes the mixture rich -poor mpg. This is why your mpg is so poor for for the 1st few miles/minutes-and why mpg drop in winter.
If your average city trip is say 2 miles-and then the motor completely cools- your mpg will be under 9 mpg.
If average trip is 4 miles- mpg maybe 10 mpg.
    Average trip 10 miles-maybe 11-12 mpg.
Likie he says hy should give 15-16 mpg.

If it was a 5.3-can you still get them in 3/4 ton trucks???-figure maybe 18 mpg hy- add maybe 1 mpg city.

I'm really looking for WT 1500, or a Duramax 2500. The WT 1500 5.3 king cab 4 door (not Crew) is what I really want, but a 2500 King cab with a Duramax would also be nice, but $$$$$. I have seen one or two 200X 3500's models with 5.3, rare since most go with the 6.0 or the Duramax.
